Here is a shot of a female Red Cherry Shrimp that I got at the auction Saturday (Thanks Frank). What the photo doesn't show, is that she already has eggs.

Don't expect many survivors, as the intake for the filter is open (no sponge).

Throw an oddball mens dress sock or a piece of pantyhose over it then rubber band....should do the trick.

Mine are in an unfiltered tank on the window sill. (No heater, either.)

I used to have ghost shrimp in my old planted discus tank. Thought they'd all been eaten, then found a large family of them in the Emperor 400 when I was rinsing filters. I was kind of hoping that I would keep a small colony alive that way, but it didn't take too long before they were all eaten, darn it!
