Oktoberfish 2010

Well, this past Sunday, my home club had their annual Show and Auction called Oktoberfish ( yeah, heavy German heritage in this area :wink: we have the largest Oktoberfest outside of Munich )
Here is my Clown Loach and Histrionica, they finished 1 and 2 in the Loaches class, but my Clown Loach did not win best in show, that was awarded to a Tiger Pleco shown by another member of my club.

Here is the Tiger Pleco that won Best in Show, he had spectacular fins, but they are clamped down in this photo:

There is another show nearby on Sunday the 31st, but I think I will show some African cichlids there, and maybe some other loaches and tetras.

Well, last Sunday in St. Catharines Ontario (near Niagara Falls) was the last open show in this area until next year.

Here are some cichlids that were shown:

Of course there were also catfish, bettas, livebearers, cyprinids, characins, killis, rainbowfish, and goldfish.

There were some cichlid families on display:

and some oddballs:

It was a pretty good show, despite being in a very small room

My African cichlids did not win their class, but, hey, there is always next year

I really like that long-eared sunfish... he's cool looking.

Also like the way category showing pair plus fry in the same tank... very cool. I wish they did that here.
