I have at least 200 free-swimmers right now. Guessing Tropical Lagoon in DC is going to have themselves a tankful ere long. Really are a very nice species - if they were less prolific most people would be gushing over them.

Rainbow cichlids are near and dear to my heart, as many of you with my children and grandchildren know!! That pair in the video are particularly handsome. I've never "caught them in the act," so that's very cool. I've got a zillion babies in my big tank with my big male who started the whole thing and his little, new wife. And a zillion in a 20 gallon high where I recently transferred a half dead subdom male and his lovely spouse. I'm very worried that the pair in the 20 gallon, where there are predators and they are very good parents, are going to overwhelm me. I have no other tanks for babies and I think I've exhausted the club's need for rainbows. I'm trying to talk tony into setting up a tank for the babies and selling them on Aquabid. tony, however, is ignoring me!!!!!!!

Uh, now that you put it that way, I guess so!! Although no proceeds need flow to me. Just getting them a home is payment enough. I have visions of myself filling a bathtub with water and throwing in a sponge filter just to house the babies that are sure to make it through childhood in my 20 high!!

Especially when growing out thousands of fry and dealing with randoms on Aquabid, (fish) pimpin' ain't easy

I'll take some if you don't mind if a fish that eats other fish in the wild can eat them (some pikes).
