Question about growing Eleocharis Parvula

Arlene answered some of my questions. But here are some more:
I am trying to growing some Eleocharis Parvula (hair grass) clumps in a 5G hex. Its a shallow water set up for now as I want the hair grass to propagate first. The substrate is organic top soil capped with T grade Color Quartz and Laguna pond plant stakes buried in the substrate. The light is a 10W PC screw in and it's on 24hrs. The water is less than a 1/2" above the substrate. Do I need to add Co2 via Florish Excel now. should I add other liquid fertilizers? What should my dosing amounts be? I also have dry fertilizers if they will work better. Just please suggest dosing amounts. I use measuring spoons. I also have some miricale grow liquid fertilizer can I use the to speed up and increase the healthy growth.

I am also trying the same thing in a Aqueon Evlove 4 minus the organic topsoil. The lighting period is 18hrs. I am using Seachem plant tabs instead of the pond plant stakes.
Thanks for the help.

sssso, ur in a hurry to get this going?
by adding so much light and whatnot your just going to end up with nasty algeas that are going to hunt you down into ur dreams...

9-12 then siesta 2 hours 2-9pm. hows that for timing?
ferts, i stay quiet in that section..i only use excel for algea control and iron as occasional treat to the plants..

for best results u need to plant EACH individual stem of hairgrass...side by side away by about 1/2 inch or so and let it establish itself and start spreading...

It's in less than a inch of water. Will algae really become an issue? I'll keep the single strand theory in mind when I add some more.
