I have found someone local that has six of these for sale and was wondering if they would be fine in a 40g breeder tank? It's 2m and 4f if that helps any and they are all about 2" also. Or I was thinking about some Tropheus Red Rainbow Kasanga. I found a group of 10 for sale about 1-1.5". Thanks.

40 breeder will be good for those guys, they do breed fast though and you have to keep an eye on the sub male he might get run over by the dominant male, you can always add more fish to that tank to act as a target fish this way the dominant male wont have time to chase the sub male around and yes lots of caves to hide

Thanks, Rasta. I have a lot of rocks waiting to be used. I'm mostly hoping to get some fry out of something. My wife loves the little baby fish.

Yeah the nyerei will be fine in there long term, the tropheus would have to be moved to a larger tank in a few months

How big of a tank would the Tropheus need probably?

75g is the recommended minimum.
