So my yellow lab spit one two days ago in the 10g. I had to conpletly take all the rock work down in the 55 to get her a week or so ago. She's still holding as she is a young mother I guess. Around that time I adopted a breeding pair of Pundamilia nyererei with the female holing and she just spit. I did not have the patience to take all the rock work out again but with the aqua-scaping I've got and if there is any instinct instilled in those fry, some just might make. We shall see. I only spotted one. I figure I'd keep the fish fed a little more frequently than usual so make they won't view them as swimming happy meals. We shall see...

If you want to try growing them out in the tank, try creating a purpose-built rock pile for the fry with *REALLY* small nooks and crannies for them to hide in.

Once you start seeing survivors, make sure that you are able to get food down to them as they may not want to stray too far from their home.

Good luck!

I think I'm set. In my tank I put down a layer of gravel followed by a layer of quarter sized lava rock. On top of that is the larger softball sized chunks of lave rock. There are many crannies for them to dip in and out of. Depending on surrvivors, I will need yo get rid of some. According to the previous owner she gas had many births. Stay in touch !

Will do. I've only been into cichlids for about a year now and so far these are sone really cool additions to the tank. I'll gladly share to fellow cichlid lovers !
