Hi All,

The March issue of Practical Fishkeeping magazine (which is published in the U.K.) has a special section devoted to Cichlids.

Here are some that are covered: Tropheus, the Canara pearlspot (Etroplus canarensis), Mbuna, Surinam Cichlids, the Egyptian mouthbrooder (Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor multicolor), Discus, and the Firemouth (Thorichthys meeki).

It's hard to find this magazines in newstands. It's basically disappeared from the places I look in DC, so I subscribe to the magazine. If anyone would like a copy of an article, or even the whole Cichlid section, PM me with your mailing address and I'll be happy to mail a coppy of the article(s) to you.

If you can find the magazine, I recommend purchasing it. It's got some lovely pics of the fish.

I'd be interested in getting feedback on the Mbuna article. It's gotten me to thinking about concentrating on this fish exclusively when we start a African tank.

I scanned the Mbuna article and can email it to anyone who's interested.

Quite right. :) It's best to purchase the magazine anyway, as the color pictures contained in this issue are worth the price of admission alone.

I've heard that there are several stores in Maryland that sell Practical Fishkeeping magazine. None in D.C. that I know of, unfortunately.

I have seen/purchased it at the Borders in White Flint Mall, so I'd wager that other Borders would carry it, too.
