Hi everyone,

I want to show you the new aquarium I just built. It is completely made out of 3/4 inch furniture grade plywood and 3/8 inch glass in the front.
The idea is from garf.org. The whole tank has about 140 gallons, I coated the Plywood with two component Epoxy resin four times, the glass is glued in with aquarium silicone and all plywood pieces are screwed together with 2 inch deck screws.
Here are some pictures:

Nice work. I'd love to try a plywood build sometime if I only had a place to put another big tank in the house. Do you have it filled yet?

I just glued in the glass today, so I'll wait another 4 days until everything is completely cured before I fill the tank with water. I'll let you know how it went.

great looking tank glad to see that the DIY'ers are alive and well

Looks good, though I'm surprised you didn't drill holes for bulkheads for that size tank. Any plans to cover the screws on the front with trim?

thanks guys!
I can´t tell you the exact cost of the tank, because I got the epoxy for free. That alone is around 120$. So altogether it´s around 300 to 350$. But it was a lot of fun building the tank. :D
I covered all the screws with epoxy, so they don´t rust.

I bought this tank from Albrecht when he moved, but I find I don't really have the space for it, so the first person to show up at my house with $75 and a means to take it away gets it.

Outer dimensions are 24" x 24" x 68". By those dimensions, it holds about 155 gallons. I don't think Albrecht filled it that much. It has been sitting on my back porch since I got it, I've never had water in it, but I saw it with water in it.
