Ya its the same tank. And really something smaller then 6 inches? Cause ive got a common in there now and its actually about 2 or 3yrs old and only about 4.5" (goes back my "fact or myth thread" ha) i rescued him. Mother in law had a turtle tank with him in it. Moved and was going to flush it. But i was thinking about relocating it to either another tank or to a friend because hes not very pretty or active. I do have a bn in a smaller tank thats a lot of fun. But it would be cool to have something different.

If you are looking for an algae eater it is hard to find many better options than bn plecos. There are a number of interesting options under 6 inches but most don't eat much algae.

L200 Green Phantom pleco one of my favs, will probly max out around 8 " and that takes a while. I think you could get away with one in a 55 gallon, if you had something larger i'd say go with my all time favorite pleco the Goldy. Good Luck

Im actually looking for something cool vs something that cleans super great. My tank doesnt have a ton of algea. I just want a couple cool plecos that arent common. And wont get killed!

Good, quality L-200 will cost you $50+ for one 4"(approx). Sometimes you can find wild caught ones for a little more.

They are all wild caught. There have been a handful of Hemiancistrus subviridis spawnings in captivity, but certainly not enough to supply commercial quantities.
Andrew could you decribe your set up? That would help a lot.

I have L052 fry that I'm growing out. I'm planning on coming down to the meeting in April if not March. April for sure.

They stay under 5" and have been easy keepers for me. I have had my breeding group now for about 4 years. Let me know if your interested.

I have a 55 mixed cichlid with three large pieces of driftwood and several live plants. Looks nice. Plenty of hiding places, only regret is using rock substrate.

And wow L052! I like those a lot. Unfortunately i live in south florida and deffinately will be able to any meetings anytime soon. But what were you looking for, for them and would you ship?

$10 ea....6/$50 and I can ship closer to mid-late March. Should be fine for priority then. Express is a waste of money in my opinion. I'm also an approved shipper with Fed-ex so can go that way as well.

I have super red BN available, bred and raised in hard/alkaline water. I keep them with SA, CA, Malawi and Tang cichlids w/out any issues, though not for breeding if you want the fry. Priority Mail to FL isn't a problem, they ship very well IME.
