Pleco ID

I pretty sure that is the right genera(Peckoltia). I can be hard to narrow to a species. The pics on planetcatfish seem to vary quite a bit.

Definitely Pekoltia. Possibly Vittata, though variation between similar appearances runs high with many pleco types.

I would post on planetcatfish for an id. L075 is an ancistomus sp, and not as heavy bodied as this guy. Based on the pictures in Ingo Seidel's L-number book I would guess Peckoltia oligaspila. But there's still some differences that might indicate a different species. P. Vittata is a striped species and somewhat in question as a species anyway. It's all so very confusing...

Andrew is correct; not vittata. L124, L075, L163, all resemble your pleco with some variation. L006 also has a few characteristics found in your pleco, but seems least likely.
I am using the Aqualog (2004) All-L Numbers book as reference. I recognize that it is not perfect, but it would seem no source for pleco IDs is 100% accurate.

It's proabably between 5"-6" TL. It's grown a bit in the last year or so, but not much. It's hard to tell in a 180 how much fish actually grow.

These are possibilities I think you might have:

Peckoltia sabaji

Peckoltia oligospila

However if the pleco is around 8" I feel this might be the better pick

Peckoltia feldbergae

I have a wild group of Peckoltia oligospila and they don't have the yellow in their fins. Is the yellow present in person or is it a camera thing?
