Your coconuts look like eyeballs!!!

Nice tank! Maybe some foreground plants like Mondo grass or smaller crypts?

You don't want to use Mondo grass in your tank. It's a terrestrial plant and not aquatic. It will die in couple of months and then the decay will foul up your tank.

As Becca said, small crypts are pretty bulletproof and don't require a lot of light.

As for stocking, just about any non-digging new world cichlid would be great.

Thanks Tony, I will take into consideration.

I belong to the "outplant the algae" school of plant thought. that means, once you turns on the lights long enough to grow the plants, you start getting algae. So I outcompete the algae with plants, especially fast growing ones -- wisteria, water sprite and griant hygro are great for that. A few big swords in the back also help fill in the background.

Weird - I had it live for years in my 10 gallon, but maybe it was just labeled mondo grass and wasn't the real thing. The one I always had trouble with was dwarf acorus and variegated acorus - though both have worked very well as bog plants.
