pearsi or festae

My inability to make a simple decision strikes back. If anyone has experience with either or wants fry from either please inform me.

I have some young Pearsei, but you have to consider that they can get to be over 20". They're somewhat peaceful for their size, but probably a small market for who would buy form.

Festae seem to be popular, and don't get nearly as big. If you're looking at breeding, this may be the easier way to go.

I don't have a lot of experience with parachromis species, but I'd think you wouldn't have them in the 55 for more than a couple months until you'd need to move them. Maybe some of our more experienced parachromis keepers will chime in.

In my 55 they murdered each other. 6 became 4 added two more and back to four.. Btw they weren't pairs either. Not for the faint of heart. I currently have them in a 220. They could care less about others they still hate each other...

festae fry

I recently purchased 8 festae fry and I couldn't be happier with them, they have lots of personality and look awesome especially when they get bigger, so I would recommend them to anyone who loves cichlids.

"THE ALL POWERFUL Q !!
I WOULD FEEL SAFER WITH THEM IN A 75G. ESPECIALLY A BREEDING PAIR. THAT WAY YOU HAVE AT LEAST A YEAR -18 MOS BEFORE THEY REALLY PUT ON SIZE. HOWEVER IF CONSTANTLY BREEDING GROWTH WILL SLOW DOWN.

P.S. GO WITH THE FESTAE...MUCH PRETTIER! ESPECIALLY IN BREEDING DRESS.

Yeah, DQ appears every now and again. Unfortunately, he goes back to lurking. Come hang out at the next meeting, Q :)

Ok, so I ordered a female festae for my male from coa, it turned out to be another male so I sold him. Thank you so much for helping! Hopefully I can try festae again in the future.
