Ohmigosh -- I have rainbow babies!!!

The wrigglers are now free-swimming. There's about a gazillion of them. Mom and Dad seem a bit overwhelmed. This is what I think is going on:

Babies: Woo hoo! OOh, let's swim here. Oooh, let's swim over there. Weeeeee. Look at all this stuff. Hey, cool.

Mom and Dad: Get over here, junior. And you, too. Stop that. Come here. I'm warning you. This isn't funny. Stay put. That's out of bounds. You're in time out.

I tried feeding some First Bites this morning, but I don't think the babies ate any. Dad brought them some NLS flakes, but they are way too big for the kids. I'm a bit worried about what happens next. How quickly do they grow large enough not to be dinner for the rest of the tank???

Mom and Dad moved them into the front of the tank this morning. I'm having a heart attack! Parents are doing a really good job of patrolling about half of the foreground, in an area I had defined with plants, etc. The tetras aren't getting a clue though, and keep lumbering into the nursery. I know not all of the babies will make it, but I'm getting very emotionally involved. Jeez, I need to get a life . . .

Nice looking tank Holly. The parents should provide enough protection for a majority of them to make it.
