Nice Tank Score

My mom and I went over to this community yard sale. She loves them and tomorrow is Mother's Day so I went with her (I'm admittedly not a yard sale person). I bought some stuff for her that she liked.

While there I spotted a tank hood so I wandered over to take a look. I stumbled upon a 5.5 gallon tank in a box with a hood, filter, tons of used gravel, unopened back of gravel, fake plants and decorations with the tags still attached, etc. I checked out the sealant and it looks intact. The lady wanted $5.00 for all of it. Then I spied another hood for a 10 gallon. It's a working hood that she only wanted $1.00 for! I've priced this particular hood in stores for around $40-$50. So I snagged it all. The lady asked if I was really into fish. My response, "Just a little bit. I have 14 tanks running."

It was awesome to score this 5.5 gal because literally just last night, I was complaining that I needed to buy a small tank to grow out fry because I was running out of tank space!

Yard sales can be great...

...especially when they happen in really old yards.

Not starting a nano?

Unfortunately, no. I'm a little hard up for grow out space for all the fry I have (and a few juvies). Any extra tank space immediately belongs to fry, lol. Especially, since on of my adult male Neolamprologus Brevis got beat up. He now resides in a 2.5 gallon that was slotted for a group of L. Ornatipinnis.

Dude, You got a deal! You got that set up practically free if you really think about it. Good for you...;) And on Mothers day too. LOL!
