I guess I belong to too many forum if I can't recall if I've introduced myself but... I was prompted to post so here goes.
After 20+ years out of the hobby, jumped back in with both feet back in Feb.. the 5th to be exact. Last week, I finally had my first brood of Angels. A big ol Orange/Koi Marble and a silver I picked up at the PVAS auction I think in May?... I was like a lil kid in a candy store... or one on Christmas Morning!...
This was their 2nd attempt and I made the mistake of leaving them in the dark overnight on the second night...Enuff said.
This time the eggs hatched in 54 hrs (waaaay too much time on my hands).. and were free swimming in 4.. total mass free swimmers in 5... I screwed up a bit and over-extended my fishroom's power supply and blew a criciut breaker while I was out and came back and 1/2 of the brood was gone... I then quickly set up a holding tank (3G) and siphoned off water fromthe tank and rescued 3 doz or so fry. I guess the parents got tiredof protecting the fry cuz a day later the other 2 doz or so are not to be seen. I've learned a bit about this/their effort. It's now about day 6 and can't wait to see them develop their shape.
Data: 125G long, heavily planted (no ferts or CO2).. 20 adult angels, 1.5 doz tets, a few cory's and plecos...
