New to mbuna!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums and new to the hobby. Just recently I discovered the mbuna and I can't get enough of them! Right now I have an embarrassingly small 20gal with 5 Ps. demasoni, Pombo Rocks (supposedly). Can't wait till I can fit something bigger into my budget and get some more variety! :)

I'm hoping the CCA will prove to be a great resource for info and am looking forward to being a part of the community!

Welcome Scott!
Do you have any pictures of your setup?
Mbuna are a great starter fish for any enthusiast. You will fall in love with them, especially the Demasoni species.
Too bad you just joined and could not attend the last CCA club meeting, we had Laif Demason as our speaker, the man behind the Demasoni species!

Our next meeting is May 8th, be sure to stop by and say Hi!

Thanks! - I'll try and make it

I can't believe I missed last month's speaker! That would have been so cool. I'll post some pics later today and hopefully they will come out and play for the photo shoot. 95% of the time they're hiding from me anyway.

Yeah, Phil's right, you missed out big time last month. So for May, lock in the date May 8th as a must do:))

Speaking of the Great Lake Malawi, Mbuna are truly an addiction and that's because of their radiant color and extra ordinary behavior.

Get some pix soon, k.

Welcome aboard!

Here are a few pics of my demasoni and my tank. It's pretty lame right now, I know. And its only 20 gallons with definitely not enough gravel hehe

I think I have 3 males and 2 females judging by their behavior (bad luck, eh?) But there is essentially no fighting, just a little chasing that ends 30 seconds later - They spend most of the day hiding out of sight anyway. I couldn't get a pick of my biggest 2'', these are about 1.2''

Btw, do I have to be a member to attend meetings?
