I'm very amateur with my fish pics but I consider these some of my best:

Very nice. There are a couple of others in the club who do the shell dwellers. Hope you meet them soon.

Not too shabby! I think they're pretty good. B)

So, tell us what equipment you're using and your set up.

Hey Theresa, there are some really nice shots here. I like the closeup full frame versions the best.

Curious on what camera and setup you are using here.

Btw, you haven't got back to me about a session. Lost interest?

Thanks for the comments.

Ok....I have a Fuji FinePix S3000 that was purchased for me almost 3 years ago. I use Microsoft Picture It! Photo 2000 to crop and resize. That's it...I love taking pics but am very definitely am amateur.

I should make a separate post but first I'll ask here for new camera recommendations. The camera is mainly used for my fish and tanks I like to do close up, highly detailed shots of the fish; I get lucky with those once in a while

Tank shots are very frustrating for me. I've experimented with all the settings on the camera...shots with the flash tend to come out dark and of course have reflections. I do have a tripod but pics without the flash show a tank with a bunch of blurs, which are the fish. I assume this is due to camera speed?

So any camera recommendations? The Fuji was in the $300 range a couple years ago. This will be a step up for me so I realize the cost will be higher but unfortunately I'm not working with an unlimited budget.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

And Bobby, I'm still interested...I've visited your site and seen pics you've taken here but I'm not sure what kind of setups you're used to. I'm in an apartment, so my fish room is the living room as you can see here lol

I still have your email so let me know if you're still interested ^_^

Great to see you here :) Seen you over at c-f for a bit now ;)

Don't worry about Bobby shooting in an apt :)... He's done it before in mine :D

Yeah, Bobby is a very cool and talented dude. He'll make it work. He just likes the tanks pristine so he can get right to work!

Theresa, and anybody else that may be curious.

I provide the setup. You provide the fish in clean tanks with glass or plex over the top to support my speedflash. Also each tank should have some light above to help focus on the the fish.

As mentioned before. Preparation is very important and saves a lot of time in post processing. Also doing a water change about a day before can improve the color of the captures.

Theresa, you are taking very good photos with the equipment and editing software you have. There is always room for improvement. I still haven't scored a 10 on any photo I've seen or taken.

About the session. If you are interested in having some of your fish included in my March talk, we'll have to do it next week...at the latest. My work is going to include several overnight road trips in the next two months. So I won't have very much free time for a while.
