ok so i'm finally getting back into the mix and am in the process of setting up a new aquarium at the new house...i ended up with a 36"x12"x20" 38 gallon...my question lies with my stocking choice...i'm planning on doing a saulosi species tank but wanted to know how many/# of m f i could go with? i was thinking 3m/9f with 2 bristlenose plecos and possibly 3-4 petricola...i'm using an xp3 w biowheel 60's as the output, stealth heater, pool filter sand and river rocks (trying to mimick this tank as i can...which btw is only a 30 gallon)

thoughts?

That is an awesome looking tank. Is that your setup or an idea for one?

Those rocks and sloping gravel look hawt!

I love setting up new tanks! Good luck with the setup, I think 3 males are gonna require alot of rockwork and escape routes.

Try to get some egg crate or something to distribute the weight of those rocks. Rocks those size will be crazy heavy.

Im always nervous that a fish is going to dig a cause one to fall and turn your tank into a puddle.

The rock place not far from me had "little" boulders like that... never thought about using them that way hmmm....need to rescape a tank soon - might borrow a page out of your book when I do it.
