Has anyone purchased an all in one nano aquarium.

Like a Fluval or Marineland or other?

Any recommendations?

I have an Oceanic Biocube 8 at work. Works great for a reef setup.

Local Petsmart has a Biocube 14 for $125 but I'm looking for a smaller tank like one of the 6 gallon Fluvals.

I just bought a Edge for 81.00 new. Now I have to convince the wife to let me set it up in the casual dinning room.

Here's what I'm thinking of getting. I was looking at the Fluval Edge, but the opening is so small I think it would be a problem for me.

I've narrowed it down to 3 choices. I want this nano to be a planted tank.

Fluval Flora 7.9g $139.99 w/ mini CO2 Is this CO2 a waiste on a tank this small?

Fluval Ebi, $119.00 same as the Flora w/o the CO2

Bio Cube 14g on Clearance for $125.00. This is almost half price. w/built in bio ball filter and 2 - 13 watt CF's

When I hear "nano aquarium", I think of something that's under 5gal.

You can easily make one yourself. Just head to Home Depot, by some glass and silicon sealant. Boom, done! :p

Boom, done... that easy, eh? :p

Or even easier, pick up a standard 2.5 gallon or 5 gallon tank for $10.

I do like these self contained systems though.... definite style points.

This one's all about style, the wife gave me permission (sort of) for me to put it on a end table in the living room. It needs to look like a living piece of art.

I ordered the Fluval Flora todayfrom TFP. Got a pretty good deal it was on sale for $99.99 and then I used a $25.00 OFF coupon code...so $74.99 not bad.

Now what to put in it. FW Shrimp? What kind of plants?

I told my wife it will be like a aquatic planter and will look GREAT on the end table next to the sofa. She said "what about the lamp" I replied "This thing will put out more light than the lamp and it has to be on for 10 hours a day so the plants will grow" lol

Good one! I think I almost have my wife ready to let me replace the 2.5 on the bar with the Edge.

I tried the 20gr co2 system and I don't like it. I will be mailing it back tomorrow. I may move up to the 88gr system or just use excel.
