Ok, it's now time to introduce you to my newest family members... I've kept it a secret because I wanted to get a photo in the contest without anyone knowing that I even owned these fish, figured it would be harder to figure out who's photo it was :D

I've waited 8 yrs to try my hand at Tropheus... Got these guys on the 20th of Feb if I remember correctly  , sorry I held out on ya for so long :angel2:

Tropheus moorii Kantalamba "Red Rainbow" (Wild Caught from Cichlids&Herps, Thanks Alison!!!)

I got 25 fish, lost 1 and have 24 going strong. The one that I lost appeared to have tried to eat some algae inside of an old style powerhead that is in the tank , it wasn't showing any signs of sickness or bloat, just came home and found her head first in the powerhead :(.

They are in a 75g, Eheim pro3, emp 400, AC70. 300w titanium heater w/external controller, quad t-5 programmable fixture, playsand, and rocks from a construction site I worked on last year ;). Some believe a 75 is now to small to house WC Troph's, mine are doing just fine

Came home last week and found these two ladies holding!!! :jumpy:

Again, I appologize for holding out on you guys for so long... it's been killing me not to show these guys off but it just didn't seem like it would be very sportsmanlike to show them off and then enter a pic in the photo comp the very next week ;)

Oh no Mike, I counted about ten or so covered in Ick! If you need a quarentine tank for their recovery I have 80gals ready to go. :)

Very, very nice fish. I have fish envy.

Thanks Tony ;)

There are so many location variants of the moorii species alone that it'd be hard for anyone to not find a troph that's pleasing to their eye. I remember when I first saw a tropheus about 10 yrs ago, it was a duboisi, 2nd and 3rd trophs I saw were bemba and ikola... so I was under the impression that all tropheus had a saddleback pattern. Then I saw a moliro about a year after that and was shocked to see a solid red troph, once I started looking into them more I was blown away with all the different variants!!! I'd have to say the "Rainbow Lineage" is my favorite "group" of troph's tho ;)
