thanks guys! Barry, i use an old nikon coolpix l20, its starting to break down on me so im looking for an affordable dslr. my method is macro setting, flash on and zoomed in a bit, i take the pics from about 18-24 in. away.

oh yeah it also helps to have an empty memory card, out of about 100 pics i keep about 4-5
