Thank you.. Yes it is sand. Its a mix of about 75% pool filter sand and 25% black sand.

Thanks. It does have a different look to it. He was just too light before i mixed in the black sand. I may do this mix in a couple more of my tanks too. I really like the natural look but i do like this too.
