Mighty Tangs

Alas, I return from a nice vacation.
I set up my tanks with auto feeders and trained my neighbor to do one waterchange (only 4 tanks). Everything seemed good when I returned.

I do a waterchange tonight on all the tanks and notice that a 15gal tank that houses juvie tropheus duboisi and petricola has a broken filter. The motor was still plugged in and the housing was blazing hot. I don't know how it didn't burn or catch on fire.
I then noticed a nice ammonia smell from the water and thought, "oh ****!".
But to my surprise, all fish were swimming well and ate when I fed (after clean). All that had the tank going was a nice litter air stone!:eek::eek:

Good to be back, cya at ACA!
