Midas Spawn!

Just found a huge batch of eggs from my Midas pair that I picked up from Rapps a few months ago. The spawn is on the inside of a driftwood stump in the tank and nearly impossible to photograph.

Oddly enough, the male is the one guarding the eggs, even chasing off the female.

It is great that they spawned for you. Are you planning to pull any fry from the tank?

This is the first spawn and it looks like a 75% fertilization rate. I'll probably leave this spawn in the tank to see how they do. I'll pull some fry for BAP eventually. If there is interest in juvies, I will grow some out.
