David Snell - Collecting in Peru It's not just about the fish
David Snell has been a tropical fish hobbyist since the early 90's and has concentrated on killifish since 1996. Since then he has spawned and raised numerous killifish, as well as various tetras & a few corydoras and other odds and ends type of fish. He has been very active in the tropical fish hobby in the Washington DC area. In 2006 he became a lifetime member in the AKA. David is also a member of the Potomac Valley Aquarium Society (PVAS) and the Chesapeake Area Killifish Club (CAKC).David is an avid photographer, and his photographs have appeared in Freshwater and Marine Aquarium magazine, Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine, the Journal of the American Killifish Association, and NANFA's American Currents. In August 2004 TFH magazine published his article titled Collecting Mikrogeophagus ramirezi in the Venezuelan Llanos about his 12-day collecting trip to Venezuela.David has presented a number of programs to other aquarium organization including PVAS, CAKC, Capital Cichlid Association, North Jersey Aquarium Society, Lancaster Aquarium Society, Delaware Country Aquarium Society, and he has also presented a beginner's workshop at the AKA National Convention in 2001. His last collecting trip was in August 2007, where he spent a week collecting in Peru on the Amazon River.
