lost a beautiful fish before I even had him

Went to check out Super Petz today. Its a nice store. Anyhow, they have tanks full of green terrors. Some were labeled "Royal Green Terror" and were honestly more attractive than the others. I found the nicest looking GT I have ever seen and it was only 13.99!

The emplyee quickly snagged him in the net and (almost as quickly), allowed him to jump out of the container and smash his face into the floor, 4 feet below. As the beautiful (but now listless) GT lay in the net, the employee looked at me and asked "still want him"?

I spent the next ten minutes watching him nose dive and twirl in the tank, hoping he would make a full recovery, but such was not the case.

As a lfs manager, I too know that accidents happen. I also know to cover the container!

yeah I have had some good experiences and some bad at that LFS. They have a great selection of fish though.

When I had my store, if the fish was prone to jump, or had some size to it. I would put the water in the catch bucket, put the water in the bag and sit the bag into the catch bucket. Fold over the top of the bag so it stayed open, catch the fish, put it in the bag and fold the bag over the top of the catch bucket and walk back to the bagging station. Saves them from hitting the floor.
