What the best lighting for a all Male peacock tank? I have an Aquaeon T5 double light strip, however is this the best lighting for thie species? I I want to create a "Saltwawater Lookalike" appearance.

Any suggestions would help?

The T5 can work, but you would likely need to change bulbs as your best bet for the saltwater lookalike would be getting bulbs that are 10000Kelvin rated for a cleaner whitish blue light.

My tank is a 75 gallon tank. Can you actually change the bulbs of a Aqueon T5? What substrates are available for a saltwater lookalike tank which appear pretty natural apart from crushed coral sand?

Yes, usually the plastic cover slides off on one end exposing the bulb area, than its simply like a regular bulb to change.

Skanda - I use common double T8 lights over my 180. Two 4' double strips, overlapping in the center. (If money were no option though, I'd go with T5 NO or HO)

Each one has a 10K daylight as well as an actinic in it. You are right regarding that saltwater look you talk about - few of the fish we keep look as good under actinics as Malawi peacocks and haps. Being so blue-heavy, it really makes their color pop.

Also if you add some holey rock you get a little bit of the coral texture with out looking out of place the way fake coral would in a freshwater tank.
