Well, my second pair of GBRs spawn again and once they were finished with their business ... the male chased the female off and won't let her near the eggs ..... go figure ... lol

Leave it to a female to be emotional rather than rational (and blame a male)
Pretty strong bait, couldn't resist, more so as this is the CCA and far as I know all the males are sweet and gentlemanly sorts (mostly).
May well be that he's protecting them from her cannibalistic ways - that's at least part of why my obongum male generally drives off the female a week or so after their fry become free-swimming - she starts snacking.
