Keyholes approve of minor rescape

I didn't do much. I pulled some of the foreground plants that had gotten too big and put them toward the back an rearranged the manzanita and made a bit of a pathway from the back of the tank to the front and the keyholes seem to like it. They are still shy, but at least they come out more than before. Such a sweet, lovely fish . . .

Here's your FTS!

I used to have CO2 and fairly high light, but I decided to go simpler some time ago and haven't seen a significant difference. Growth of swords is much less, but other than that, everything else is fine. Vals do great, also crypts, anubias, wisteria. I don't have anything exotic. I don't prune :) I also don't fertilize any more either. It is a very mature tank. I have been battling a little BBA outbreak, which may have been a nitrate issue. I have a lot of baby BNs growing up and pooping around. I should be getting rid of them, but I :wub:them a lot

I am so jealous of you and others who have such beautifully planted tanks. I cannot keep plants alive in my tanks, no matter what.

Matt -- eco-complete

Jon -- You can do it! Get a light with plant spectrum at 2 wpg on for about 8 hours a day. get easy plants swords, vals, java fern, anubias, wisteria, crypts. Use a good substrate (I like ecocomplete), Over plant to out compete the algae. Dose with Excel per instructions.Voila!
