Man, yesterday I was all up and down the beltway,from Upper Marlboro to Germantown. I was either picking stuff up or dropping something off,anyway I had fun doing it.

I finally got a chance to take some pics of Jumbie's pike. The tank that he keeps them in is really deep and the water is tinted(Tannins) because he keeps about 50lbs. of oak leaves in there.

I have a small plexiglass tank that I now carry around for photo shoots.We transferred his fish so I could finally take some clear pictures.

The pike just hide in the corner until we added some dither fish,then they started coming out:)

These guys have even better color than what they are showing We didn't have enough time for them to settle in and color up more.

What kind of pikes are those? How big do they get?

Thanks Kevin for taking the pictures and thank you Tony for the compliment. They are Crenicichla sp. Atobapo II, and they get up to about 14-16". To be honest no one really knows because there is no documentation of any Atabapo II to reach full adult size or color in captivity yet. They do look a lot better in person before we net them out; they all had these deep red faces with bold brighter red lines on their bodies. They were showing their stress coloration’s.

I am feeding PE Frozen Freshwater Mysis Shrimp (I think this stuff is great), Hikari Frozen Krill, and the octagonal group of fry from the auction LOL. I would prefer to feed them pellets but unfortunately I can not get them to switch.

Isn't PE mysis the best? !! Love the stuff ! Haven't found a fish that didn't like it unlike some other brands. HOT is running a sale on ths stuff btw :)

I know right, I tell people all the time if they don't know about it, they better find out LOL. Thanks for the heads up about the sale at HOT I am going to have make a trip up there this Friday.
