Have extra females of each...

Damian and I both noted that the male I have doesn't look like an aureocephalus... I will try to get you a photo.

Before you trust me with another of your fish, Sam, I need to tell you something. As you know, the male Betta potati you gave me last Saturday spent the evening dancing with the female. They seemed quite enamored with each other. All was well on Sunday until about early afternoon, when we left to go grocery shopping. We returned to find her badly beaten and beyond help about 1.5 hours later.

At that point, the male was tormenting the other fish in the 150. I set up the quarantine for him with a fake castle decoration, sponge filter, and some floating sprite for cover. I covered it with a piece of lighting screen I cut to fit the tank and only filled it about 2/3 of the way. He proceeded to ram the side of the tank and jump at the top, trying to get to the Badis badis in the 15 gallon next door. I put a piece of cork board between the two tanks.

Monday morning he sat perched like a dragon, guarding the entrance to his make believe castle. He glowered at me as I greeted him, and attacked his fish kibble as if its mere existence were a major offense. That evening I got home and was greeted by a similarly dirty look. At around 6:30, Jeremy checked on all of the fish and thanked me for moving him out of the 150. We had a good laugh over how he looked guarding the castle.

About 2 hours later, Jeremy went back downstairs to get something out of the chest freezer. He came back up and said, "Your fish is dead." I thought he was kidding. I went downstairs and there he lay, in the bottom of the tank, just outside his castle. I inspected him to be absolutely certain. His color hadn't even begun to fade. One eye was an uneven, murky black, as though the pupil had spilled into the iris, the other was a sharp pinpoint. The only thing I can figure is that, in all of his unbridled rage, he cracked his head against the tank in such a way that it did him in.

I have sworn off Bettas of all varieties at this point. I'm cursed.

Before you give me any more fish, you should know this.

Not quite Betta heaven...

Merde happens. Pictures may or may not do the trick. Where did you get your male? If he came from me he's an aureocephalus, likely the same if he came from CCA/PVAS recently or Aquamania...

If I felt I needed it, yes, I probably would.

I like trades - I get to meet other club members, two people get something they want, and two people have less stuff they don't want lying around their fishrooms, bedrooms, basements, garages, what have you.

Plus, for those of us with limited financial capital, a little social capital goes a long way ;).

PM me and let me know what you think a fair price is :)

Have a multi-tap pump

I have the big 4 outlet pump from Petsmart which was used sparingly.

I also have a linear airpump from Jehmco that I think can power >50 stones

http://www.jehmco.com/html/lph80.html

This one was used just over a year until I got my blower online. Regardless of what is said, it is a bit noisy.

What do you want for them? Been meaning to pay you a visit :)

The 4 outlet you can have, I have no use for it. The other one I would like to get something, the BN plecos would have been nice but also looking for corys if you have any. My fishroom is on the darker side with no over the tank lighting so plants would most likely just die.

The only corys I have are in the tanks I'm treating for worms :(.

I'm working on breeding Aspidoras, but they're not mature yet. What about Java Fern? I don't think I need more than a 4-outlet pump (famous last words), but I want to give you something for it.

Then you can pay me when they are breeding, although I have enough wormers to handle every pet shop in Fredneck and Monty counties. Plants would just die, the lighting is with overheads only and when you have 3 shelves per row, you do not get much.
