ISO: Red root floaters

Looking for a starter bunch for my pond. They did great last year.

I might be able to get you a few. I have them in with some frog bit and it seems to be out competing the red root for space.

I used to have so much of this plant and it just disappeared :-(. I even got some new stuff from FishEggs at some point, and it still vanished. I don't know why it used to grow so well for me and now it doesn't - it's weird.

Nope. I usually split it between a few tanks, so that wouldn't make sense.

It seems to just straight up melt and disappears in some of my tanks too...

My problem is that I can't keep it alive indoors. In fact, other than the damnable duckweed, I can't keep any floating plant alive indoors over the winter.

I'm tired of the water lettuce or hyacinth taking over my tubs and liked the red of the floaters. Really complemented some of the marginals. Also, the smaller scale of the RRFs made the tub seem bigger (it's a 140 gallon Tuff Stuff stock tank)

Now, for a non-mesh/fence/screen option to keep the dogs from drinking out of it.

Got home late last night and didnt get to check what i have yet. I have plenty of frog bit (i think its frogbit) which is about half the size of red root and bright green. Its been out pacing the red root and sort of strangling it out.
The red root floater usually grows fine for me in my 55g. I do have a 4 bulb t5ho light over it and low surface flow. It doesnt get very red under the light but it used to cover the top of the tank quickly. That is until i put the frogbit in with it.
Maybe yall have to much surface agitation and it doesn't like that and dies away?

I heard if you spray tiger urine around the area it will keep dogs away.

I used to work at the zoo in South Bend while in college. That's some strong stuff!

I gave up and put up chicken wire fencing with deer netting over top to keep the dogs and kids 1) out of the pond; 2) from dropping things into the freakin' pond.
