Hi all, new to CCA and relatively new to cichlids. Would like opinions on my stock compatibility.

6 maingano
6 labs (2m:4f)
1 Strawberry Peacock (1m)
1 OB Peacock (1m)
1 C. borleyi (1f)
2 Hemichromis guttatus (1m:1f)
1 P. Nyererei (1m)
1 Flameback Hap (1m)
1 Cyanotilapia Afra: Jalo Reef (1f)
1 Bumblebee (not for long, rehoming)
2 Albino BN Plecs
1 Aulonocara ngara flametail (m)

All this in a 92g corner bowfront...

My thought is the maingano are too aggressive but my gf loves them the most.

It sounds like a good mix of fish for that tank... it's 4' in the long direction, right?

Other than the bumblebee, which you say you're getting rid of, I don't see any real problems. I've never kept maingano, but hear that they're not nearly as bad as the other Melanochromis. Just keep an eye on them to see if they become problems. If the male becomes hyper-dominant and starts beating on non-mainganos, then do something.. until them, let 'em be if the boss likes 'em.

The two vics may fight or may not.. have kept single male vics in Malawi community tanks on and off over the years, but never two. Without females, they may be ok.

Also not sure about the jewels in with the Malawi cichlids, but if they're doing fine, I'd leave them be.

Got any pics?

EDIT: Saw your photo album... tank looks great!

Thanks for the comments.

I will be keeping an eye on aggression and will take care of anything out of the ordinary that pops up. Right now the OB is the dominant in the tank.

My substrate is Black Beauty sand blasting grit, think its "fine" grade. $10 for a 50# bag...
