If there are New World and Old World Cichlids. Do the Malagasy and Indian cichlids count as Middle Aged World?

Not so fast
Historically speaking, Old World refers to everything that was "known" before the discovery of continents in the Western Hemisphere, and in so far as the Rift Lakes wouldn't be discovered and the rest of the continent actually explored for almost 400 years (along with the rest of Africa save the South Coast of the Mediterranean and the Cape of Good Hope area) it is Africa that would be the Middle, Last or Newest World rather than India and SE Asia. As for "smart", the Lake species are generally the most inbred in the world. Just saying....
