Huge shake-up in cichlid taxonomy

Saw this very interesting article on mfk.

Allot of very popular new worlds have been moved around (genus wise). I'm happy festae officially have a genus. If I had a penny for every different genus I've heard people say festae are in, I'd be a milionaire.

I haven't had the chance to read the paper, but I like that some of the orphaned species now seem to be grouped with other similar fish.

But the poor rainbow cichlid (herotilapia multispinosa) remains by itself. :-(

It is, however, a unique fish in many ways, so maybe that is appropriate.
