2009 White Marlin Open

Look at the size of this thing! 1062LBS! I know, I know we are all fish lovers here and as much as I believe in catch and release this whopper was worth $454,999 so I wouldnt have released either. Not bad for a day fishing.

I'd feel bad about keeping it for all of about 2 seconds - think of what this guy had to go through to get to that size... but yeah - for half a million I think I'd be keeping it, too.

Must have been one heck of a fun time reeling that thing in - for the first hour or so! lol It takes awhile to get one that big onto the boat, doesn't it?

I think there are side pools, such as largest of a certain species. That is where the big money comes from. Some boats participate, some do not.

So when you reel in something worth that kind of change, do you have to look for buyers or do they find you?
