Okay, I was just looking at my list and it made me wonder.

How many Tropical Fish Conventions have you been to.

2 ACA's, 1 CatCon, 1AquaMania, 1Aquafest.

I had just joined CCA when they hosted ACA. I hardly knew anyone, but I got involved and helped out and it turned out to be the best way to get to know lots of people. I remember showing up at Tony's house to help with the stand building....I got a lot of weird looks as I walked up the driveway (who IS this person? is she one of ours?) but everyone was really welcoming and certainly didn't turn down the help.

Nice List, Pat! I'd have liked to go to OCA this year, but I'm on travel for work the next week....woudn't make it worth going to just have to get there, then turn back around to catch my flight out.

Maybe next year, though!

My first fish convention was in 1987...a show that the Greater Dayton (OH) Aquarium Society put on in a mall in our area. It's how I discovered fish clubs!

Between 1987 and 1991, I attended a bunch - usually 4-5 per year...got back into fish clubs in 2004 or so and attended a couple. Been to all of the Aquafests, Catcons and ACAs (except 2) since we moved out here!

What makes the OCA so exceptional? What can we learn from it?

It's like what you did with AquaMania

Its inexpensive to register.
You don't need to pay for a sit down banquet
You register for an ACA convention and banquet and you are at $120.00.
You have fun with people because they are friendly
The drive for me is under 6 hours So I can take fish and bring fish home.

Tony

Alligator Snapping Turtle/Past Pres
Not that many compared to you vets. :)

3 ACA, 2 CatCons, 2 Aquafest, AquaMania 1.
