Hey all...awesome forum! My wife and I are pretty new to the Cichlid/fish world, and in the short year and a half have accumulated quite the set-up with 7 tanks currently, with 12 at one point!..lol. We will try to be as active as possible on here as we tend to search more then actually post, but hoping to gain as much knowledge as possible, and hopefully attend a convention in WI someday! here is a list of most of the fish with tank sizes listed
20g tall...13 Mbuna fry possibly Kenyi, or ps interuptus and yellow lab mix? Our first fry we will attempt to raise:unsure:
35hex Community Tetra/platy/and one Calico Angelfish
65 Gourami/Clown Loaches/ single Jewel
65 Jack Dempsey pair
75 Single Firemouth/7 Acei/7Yellow lab/pair Kenyi/ single spotted Raphael
75 Mbuna..1 fuelliborni/1 bumblebee/ 1 Socolofi/1 Yellow lab/1 Saulosi?/ 1ps interuptus?/8 Kenyi/7 tiger barbs/1 chinese algae eater I may be missing a couple as I have not thought to take pics when they are all out..lol. This tank is mostly calm with Fuelliborni (sp?) being the tank boss.
125g Frontosa 9..not sure what species yet..I will upload pics soon I hope to get clarification as I think a few are Moba, and the rest are Burundi?..largest is 10+" smallest is 4".

I realize that my personal tank..the 75 mbuna is very scary to most purists, and all I can say is that was my newb mistake from listening to store employees. I will say that when I added 7 of the Kenyi to my tank, and then the Fuelliborni, that everything changed overnight!..before I had issues with the single male kenyi, and ps int., but after adding the group of Kenyi, the tank went calmer in a big way. Auratus pair have mated, and bumble bee is always front and center when I walk up to the tank.
anyways, thanks all!!:D

It is funny how some combinations that would seem to be trouble on paper work, and then other times normal combination has all kinds of issues. If only fish would read books and act how they are supposed to :)
One of the most important things about compatibility is to watch your fish and address issues before they get very serious.

Nice Frontosa tank!
You just missed the convention in Wisconsin. Milwaukee held the ACA convention in 2010!

The Madison club is hosting their Fall Fish Fest in October. It's a two day miniature convention that you should check out.

And there is also the Milwaukee Aquarium Society that meets the third Friday night of the month at Hoffer's Tropic Life pets. You should check it out this Friday. I am doing a mini talk on lighting for planted tanks and Ted Judy is doing a mini talk on substrates for planted tanks. There are going to be live plant raffles and a mini auction too!

Thank you all!!
Verbal..I agree with watching the fish for compatability...we are currently trying to figure out where to put her red tail shark as it should not be in with the fronts..so I dunno yet...possibly the jack tank, but I would have to add alot more cover i think.

Andy...Yes I did some searchin and seen that we missed it this year in Milwaukee!!..big time bummer. Im sure we will be able to hit at least one convention as we have already driven to Rockford,Il for the frontosa, and to a store called aquatics unlimited in Milwaukee area for a JD female..lol...so wherever wife wants to go...we go;)

Thanks uncleruckus!
