Has anyone had success?

I bought a 150 gallon tank recently, I'm about to move so I'm waiting on actually picking it up and starting the cycle until I have moved. My current stock plan is: a lemon oscar, a super red severum, 5-6 silver dollars, and a featherfin catfish. However, I was looking online at my local fish store and they have whiptail catfish. I love the look of them and have thought about replacing the featherfin with one or two of the whips...or however many I could reasonably place in there. I'm nervous about the slender build of the fish though and if they'd have a good chance of surviving.

Has anyone ever kept whiptail catfish with a fish similar to an oscar?

I think eventually the whiptail would end up being a snack for the oscar. Maybe it is just me, but I have found whiptails to be very timid and easily out competed for food. I think you'd be best to stick to the synodontis.

+1 on the whiptails starving from being out-competed or becoming oscar food. :/

I have a (big) pair of super red severums, 10 silver dollars, a featherfin catfish, 2 whiptail cats, handful of yellow Lab's, 5 kubotai botias, God only knows how many BN (tossed a handful in and they spawn) and a zebra knife fish in my 220. Change out the Oscar for another severum and you'd be fine.
