After 4 plus years of caring for and settling a colony of wild caught Moba frontosa (to keep the name short) I have success.
Two weeks back I had my first two mommas hold eggs full term. THe evening I went to strip them they had already released and I lost all the babies. This was nerve wracking because this was the first time I have had full term holding. I wrote it off.
Well, needless to say I went to start my water changes this weekend and noticed some babies in my overflow corners of the tank. I immediately got excited. There were 2 F1 Moba babies waiting for rescue.
I AM SO HAPPY!
What's the secret? No water changes for 2 months. It gives them time to settle get it on then hold babies. I think my tap water is the problem with them having not bread before. Also when I imported them try were smaller. Now they are larger and more mature.
Now to hone in on what gets them going. Looking forward to supplying Moba babies to the masses.
