Thanks, all! I haven't been online much lately (wedding & honeymoon) so I missed this.

I think I DO have a pretty good excuse for missing the last meeting though. :p I'll have to figure out how to post a picture of us snorkling in Iceland! (Nope, I saw no cichlids ... they'd have to wear little wool sweaters ....)

Now that things are getting back to normal, I think I need more fish! :angel2:

Congrats !!! Sounds like you had a blast in iceland !!!

Bill and I want to go diving there.... between the continental shelves !!!

How cold was the water?

Swimming between the continents in the Silfra fissure was VERY cool (literally and figuratively!) ... the water was crystal clear and we could see really far down (which was nice -- I figured since we couldn't scuba dive, we might not see much).

The water stays from 1-3 degrees Celsius all year long (hence our need for dry suits). Our guide told us our faces would be cold at first, but once they got numb we'd be fine. We stayed in the water until our fingertips started feeling frostbitten.

wow 1 to 3 degrees !!!! I've dove in water that cold in a wetsuit... but man I was FREEZING ! Don't blame you for wearing a dry suit !!!
