Green Terror and Blue Acara questions

Ok so at a LFS i saw a blue acara. I instantly thought, green terrors. Then I read the sign. I asked and they said the lack of orange on the tail fin means blue acara. Thats as much info as I got from them. Ok so then whats the difference between these 2 fish? Just the color? Any difference in personality? Size? Temper? Diet?

So i decided to try my google skills. Well, im now reading this and that about gold saums, white saums, fake green terrors, blue acara's with pics that looks like green terrors. So google just confused me even more.

Ive got a green terror in my tank. Well, what i seem to find as the most common GT. Its got orange on its tail and dorsal fins so its classified under some sort of GT.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

Blue acaras (aequidens pulcher) stay smaller, and in my experience, are much milder than GT's (adinoacara sp. rivulatus).

Very interesting, that helped a lot actually. So these different saums and aequidens rivulatus are really similar just slightly different habitat. Which is only a theory. But the main thing, the blue acara is different once it grows. To me, it almost looks like a JD GT mix. I know they couldnt breed but it seems to have a head thats mixed between the 2. Also having the jd's verticle lines.

I wish i would have seen these acara's before. Very cool, would probably look very nice in my tank.



Heres my gt, 99% sure its a green terror, and is female. I love this fish. Cant wait until it gets big. I think shes going to be beautiful. I think she knows the camera so she wont pose, but if I just watch them she likes to come out and give a nice sideways stance with fins up. Like she will pose, but doesnt want her pic taken.
