Gold Ram Spawning

My Gold Ram pair spawned. I conditioned with live blackworms and upped the water changes.

They have spawned in the past in a community tank, but I think the eggs ended up getting eaten.

The water is Fairfax County tap water. Will the eggs hatch in hard water or should I try doing a water change with distilled water to lower the hardness?

I've tried lowering water hardness with distilled water, I think it will take you too long at this point to matter.
