Getting back into the hobby

After a year plus hiatus, I finally am getting back into the tanks. Now that I can have a dedicated fish room (garage), I plan to dedicate myself to more variety. I am mostly into smaller cichlids, and one of the fish I am very interested in getting to breed is Apistogramma barlowi. I bought a trio from Batfish Aquatics. Keeping them separate for now so they can grow and develop before attempting to spawn them.
Here is a picture of the male. The females both prefer to stay out of sight in their tank.

That's fantastic! I've been working with both Barlowi and Kelleri and have found them to be quite challenging, but there are other members on here who have had success.

Like you, I prefer the smaller cichlids as well!
