Fx5 won't run :(

So an fx5 I bought used has just stopped without warning.. I took the filter apart,cleaned the impeller and housing, lubed the o-rings and put them back together..it ran for a few minutes and shut off again..I'm feeling I have an air leak somewhere..how can I check this and what to do?

Are you sure it isn't just the air purge cycle? They are programmed to run for a few minutes, then let the air purge by shutting off. They restart after 60 seconds.

I can't imagine it just shutting off unless like already stated its the initial air purge programing. When I first turned mine on it **** off after a few minutes seemed to stay of for a few then kicked back on and released the trapped air. Even if you have an air leak or other problem the pump shouldn't just shut off. They are preprogrammed to shut off once every 24 hrs to release any trapped air

Its been off ever since I took it down for the move..set it back up yesterday..run for a few minutes then just shut off.. I thought it was the air purge program..but it did not turn back on..I can hear a whining sound from the motor..is that it?

I'd take the motor off and clean the impeller again. If you can hear the motor whining, you may have something caught in the impeller that is preventing it from working. I had an issue where I accidently ran my FX5 dry and it quit working. I took it apart, cleaned all the pieces, and put it back together and it has been running ever since.

FX5 runs for one minute when you plug in and shuts off for another minute. It turns back on and should continue running. So are you saying that the motor stops running after another few minutes after the recycle?
