I've been on the fence about letting these guys go but today i've committed to the sale. I have 6 of these guys @ 2.75-3". Looking to sell all 6 as a group for $50. I hate to get rid of them but they're a little too shy for my liking.

Are they from Rapps?

Thanks,
Matt

The Theraps are doing great with a bunch of grow out Cryptoheros - lots of cruising around and a little chasing...but too many fish in the tank for anyone to get hurt.

Great to meet you at the meeting, as well!

Surprised they're out n about. The gymnos are doing well. I was wondering if you knew of any non cichlid tankmates that would be ok with them with the cool down period in mind?

I keep the Gymnogeos with goodeids.

Xenoteca eiseni (re-tail goodeids) are supposed to be good down to the 40s but others like Chaplicthys work as well. Just stay away from the nippier ones like Ameca and Ilyodon with Gymnogeos.

Some tetras like Buenos Aires, Black, Serpae and others will do well at cooler temps as well. Same with Danios.

Take care,
Matt

Saw that one of the females from this group is in breeding dress (although not guarding eggs). They're in with a bunch of grow-out cutteri and a female Uruguayan pike, so a successful spawn's probably not in the cards...but they're doing great!

Largest male's close to 5"...

Very cool. My group is doing well, too. My largest is probably pushing 5" as well. He tends to have a lot more black in the belly than the others do, but I haven't seen any breeding activity yet. I have them in a 40 breeder with a group of thorichthys. I may move them to a bigger tank to see if that helps.

Mine are in a 2'x2'x1' with a bunch of CA grow outs (which are also starting to pair off). Tanks on the bottom row in my fishroom, which means that it's probably 70-72 F... It gets weekly water changes and has lots of air flowing (a box and a large sponge).

The largest pair of wesseli have staked out one of those plastic ornaments you gave me :)
