How big do they get? Where are they found? (In the wild)
They are shell-dwelling cichlids from Lake Tanganyika. Most max out at about 2 to 3 inches.
These guys are not total shell dwellers like multifasciatus, they are from lake tangential in Africa.
I offer mine both shells and rock piles. They will actually excavate a bit under the rocks to get a nice snug cave going. I find that if I have a lone pair in a 10, they prefer the rocks. If mine are in a mixed tank with other rock dwellers, they take the shells. Mine also like the calvus caves you can get from South Central Cichlids.
