Fry Separation From Parents

What is the ideal time to remove the parents from the fry? my A. cacatuoides spawned. the female died Monday night. When I thought all of the fry were dead, i saw the father trying to eat the lone survivor. However, he just moved the fry to a different location (away from me). and then he did this with some more fry. So, much to my delight, the father is caring for the fry, but when will this change? I don't want to lose this bunch since the mother died.

The fry are free swimming? Once they're free swimming you pretty
much don't need the parents in with them.

But if the parents are caring for the fry, and the parents are well fed, you can leave them in a little while longer until they fry are big enough for you to see that they are eating well on their own. If the parents aren't well fed, they could turn to the fry as a meal...
