Fish I Got From Frybabies

Here's a couple of a male Apistogramma pantalone I picked up from Julie at Frybabies.com

Nice photos, Kevin. I think that fish is Apitogramma mautbruder (sp). I have never heard of 'pantalone'. I'm going to check my reference book and get back.

I stand corrected!

Two forms came from Peru and were sold as sp. Mortenthaler and sp. 'lyretail' (subsequently to Martini). Supposedly, according to Romer this species is different.

At first glance, your picture seemed to be the mouthbrooder that I got from Julio years ago that had a trianglar spot at the caudal peduncle which determined the sex of the fish according to the length of the triangle. That fish was deemed Mautbruder.

From the information stated by Romer, you've got your work cut out for you. If you get them to go...I want some of the fry!

They use to call it sp. Lyretail but it's been changed to Pantalone from what I can gather.
I believe this one is sp. maulbrüder I got my trio from Twofishguyz.com
