just found out she is holding..was suspicious yesterday when she was not eating...anyone know how long she will hold??? put divider in tank, male was getting alittle bit fiesty

Great idea to keep her divided - male red humps can be butchers.

Wait for her to start letting the little ones out of her mouth to forage... She'll eat a bit as well.
Female mouthbrooders can go for about 3-4 weeks without eating (or eating much). It's never a bad idea to let them recooperate for a couple of days before re-introducing them (during a water change or a feeding) to the colony...

Matt has a good point about letting the female recooperate for a few days. I remember before I knew any better I put my female Front in with the colony without letting her recooperate and the male was trying to go at it again. Well she didn't eat much while holding her fry so she was a little under wait and with him ruffing her up she didn't really have a chance. I had to seperate her from the colony once more for aboit a week or two and beef her back up. Good luck and keep us updated.
